Life Be Gettin' Life-y

Life Be Gettin' Life-y

Story time.

It's been a bit quiet around here as of late because life be gettin' life-y. A few weeks back my husband was laid off to part-time. As we were adjusting to that we got the news last Monday morning that he was fully laid off, effective immediately. If you know our story you know that this comes as a huge blow as he loved his job and it is one of the check-list certainties that landed us moving out to Northern BC. That job also made it possible for me to be a SAHM, us to take advantage of having an Employee Benefits Package for the first time in our lives and for us to purchase our first home.

On November 3, 2020, we secured two things in order to make the move plausible: a rental to live in and a job for Dan. Within two years of moving, both were taken from us. The apartment we were renting was sold and we were sent an eviction notice for September 1st, 2021—days after Fern was born. And now, the stable employment that we were banking on for our family, gone.

If you saw my recent 'OPEN' reel on social, now you know why. While Dan explores options for his future, I'll be ramping up my freelance offerings in addition to my part-time work in order to bridge the gap of his employment income. So if you or anyone you know is in need of creative services (design, commissions or otherwise) you can contact me here.

We are not sure what this means for us at this time, but we are sure that God is up to something. We know that He brought us to this and we know that He will bring us through this. All options are on the table right now, which is equally exciting for him and frightening for us.

I've prayed these words before, and I will pray them again and again; We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you, Lord (a simple go-to prayer of mine extracted from 2 Chronicles 20:12b). If you find yourself in any adjacent life situations to this, you can borrow my go-to prayer if ya like.

Thanks for being here,
— Jordan
