Psalm‬ ‭125 A Thousand Elsewhere

Psalm‬ ‭125

I love the reference to mountains in this Psalm. I do not live in a place with mountains (any more, did for a year and a half) but every time I travel to a part of the world with mountains I am in complete awe of them!

I LOVE mountains. How they can look grey, blue or purple depending on the time of day. They are so grand. They are so mighty.

This Psalm first mentions people who trust God are like mountains—they cannot be moved + abide forever. But then it goes on to say like mountains surrounding Jerusalem, God surrounded His people.

How cool is that?! When we trust in the Lord, we become like mountains and we become more like HIM. --- Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous stretch out their hands to do wrong. Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts! But those who turn aside to their crooked ways the Lord will lead away with evildoers! Peace be upon Israel!
