Psalm‬ ‭128 A Thousand Elsewhere

Psalm‬ ‭128

Psalm‬ ‭128 is a ‘Song of Ascent’ [Psalms 120-134] that would have been sung by traveller's on the way to worship in Jerusalem.

I love that it says blessed is EVERYONE who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways...ALL who honour and respect God.

Many writings in the NT are addressed specifically to Jews, Gentiles, men, women, children, masters, servants, maidservants... But in this verse, none of that matters.

It doesn’t matter your gender, ethnicity, background, skin colour, language, profession, amount of sin you have committed, amount of money you have—no, blessed is everyone or ANYONE who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. That is as accessible as it gets!

In a way, we are all sojourners together in this life, on our way to the new Jerusalem—then what a blessing this series of Psalms is to us, in our travels. --- Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. The Lord bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life! May you see your children’s children! Peace be upon Israel! Psalm‬ ‭128 ‭| ESV
