Worshipping the Problem

Worshipping the Problem

Preaching to myself with this one, can you relate?

The concept of “fear not” or “do not be afraid” appears over 300x in the Bible—arguably the most repeated command.

And yet it is so easy to worry. It comes natural to many of us and can evolve into extreme anxiety for some.

I used to struggle a lot more with anxiety but have come a long way in my mental health and faith journey. But as I near the end of my second pregnancy I can feel it slowly creeping back into my heart.

Jesus tells us “do not worry” 5x in His sermon on the mount alone (found in Matthew 6), so it's pretty clear how He feels about the topic.

Join me in trusting God with the future; in overcoming the fear, as faith is the opposite of fear and worry, with this simple prayer:

Father in Heaven,
I declare that anxiety has no authority over me.

Your peace guards my heart and soul.

I trust You fully, and I rest in Your presence and promises.

When fear rises, I will speak Your truth:
You are with me, You are for me, and You will never leave me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
